Wildlife Commissions

Commission bookings are now open for 2026.

I take a limited number of commissions each year in response to moments that clients have experienced with wild animals, whether during safari travel, gorilla or orangutan trekking, or conservation-related journeys.

These works are created for people who wish to have a lasting reminder of an experience they witnessed in the wild, often a meeting characterised by stillness, eye contact, or quiet presence, something that has stayed with them and feels important to mark.

Each artwork is developed using photographs and personal recollection from the experience as reference. Rather than creating a photographic replica, the work is shaped by the atmosphere of the moment and how the animal was experienced.

Because this work is slow and considered, I take on only a small number of these commissions each year.

If you would like to explore whether a wildlife experience you had while travelling, trekking, or spending time in natural habitats could be developed into a unique piece of art, you’re welcome to share a little about the experience and the animal involved.

This is simply the beginning of a conversation, with no obligation on either side.

Every piece is created by hand using professional, archival materials, and comes mounted, wrapped securely, and finished with a Certificate of Authenticity.

Larger pieces and more complex scenes are quoted individually after viewing your reference photos.

Reference & Experience

Each artwork is developed using reference photographs connected to your experience, alongside your own recollection of the moment.

Reference photos help me understand the animal, expression, light and setting, but the finished piece is shaped by the atmosphere, presence, and what stayed with you from the experience.

If you’re unsure whether your photos are suitable, you are welcome to share them and we can talk it through together.

How It Works

A more detailed step-by-step guide is available on the How Commissions Work page, but here’s a simple overview of the process:

• Enquiry — You share the experience, the animal and any reference material you would like me to consider.

• Quote — I confirm pricing, timescale, and approach.

• Booking — A 50% non-refundable deposit secures your commission.

• Creation — Your artwork is created carefully over 6–12 weeks.

• Approval — I share images of the finished piece for review.

• Completion — The remaining balance is paid prior to delivery.

• Delivery — The artwork is mounted, packaged securely, and sent via tracked delivery.

Timelines

Most commissions take 6–12 weeks, depending on:

• chosen medium

• size

• detail

• time of year

Any specific timing considerations can be discussed at the enquiry stage.

A Note on Terms

A short summary of key terms is available on this website, and full Terms & Conditions will be provided at the booking stage.

These outline payment, timelines, delivery, copyright and care guidelines, ensuring everything is clear and comfortable before any work begins.
